God Bless America

Don't forget the School Budget vote on Tuesday, May 15th, 6 AM - 9 PM at the Senior High School on Sacandaga Rd.  We've heard from folks who say they moved to Scotia because of our school system. Show that continuing our top of the line education is important to you.

Empire State Aerosciences Museum  NEW!

The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in NYC needed to make room for their new Shuttle Enterprise. The historic planes formerly on exhibit in NYC will be added to the great displays found at our local Empire State Aerosciences Museum. The planes moved April 28th by barge up the Erie Canal and were lifted by crane across from "The Waters Edge Lighthouse Resaurant and Inn". Below are some photos of the exhibits before they're moved up Freemans Bridge Rd to Schenectady County Airport and their new ESAM home.

The MiG-15 was the first successful Soviet jet fighter, and was an icon of the Korean War.

Douglas F-3D Skynight - the Skynight was a two-seat, twin-engine fighter used by the U.S. Marine Corps, which entered service in 1952.

View from across the river at Gateway Landing-Rotary Park off Freemans Bridge Rd.

Supermarine Scimitar - the Scimitar was a twin-engine, single-seat strike fighter used by Great Britain's Fleet Air Arm aboard its aircraft carriers, which entered service in 1957.

Details provided by ESAM. For more information visit http://www.esam.org. While the publicy of this move has increased the visibility of ESAM these planes only scratch the surface of the history already on display at the museum just up the road on Rt 50.
